For the more adventurous spirits, Desert Homestead offers a unique experience: a horseback safari through the majestic red dunes of the Namib Desert and the rugged Naukluft Mountains. This adventure is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in the wilderness, sleeping under the stars and riding through breathtakingly varied terrain.

The Route

Leaving from the stables and lodge, you embark on an unforgettable journey across wide open plains, sandy terrain and rocky mountain trails. Along the way you cross dry river beds, ride beneath the nests of Sociable Weavers and admire the beauty of the Camel Thorn trees.

With an experienced guide at your side, you will discover the rich fauna and flora of the desert. You will probably spot herds of Oryx, springbok and zebra, as well as small carnivores such as jackals and ear foxes.

Namib Night: A One-Night Adventure

Duration: 1 night, departing in the afternoon and returning the next morning.
Level of Experience: The horses are suitable for various levels of experience, from beginners to experts.
