OLIFANTS rest camp

Where is it located: Olifants Rest Camp è in our opinion, the most beautiful camp in the Kruger Park! This rest camp, decidedly smaller than others, is located in a truly remote part of the park, near the river of the same name, perched on high ground that offers endless panoramic views of the savannah. It is, by the way, the easternmost camp in the park, very close to the border with Mozambique and at the foot of the mountain range that serves as a watershed between this country and the Republic of South Africa.
Olifants è can be reached by paved roads in about an hour from Phalaborwa Gate, one of the park's entry points.
 


DESCRIPTION: This small camp is located in a hilly and scenic area; it consists of a good number of bungalows of different types and offers a bar and restaurant (the latter has an open terraced area), a food and memorabilia shop, a petrol pump and a swimming pool.
BEDROOMS: The bungalows, built of brick but with thatched and/or wooden roofs, are available in many different types, both in terms of size and equipment, and in terms of location;

Important note:Because of the very affordable prices, this camp is very popular and it is recommended to book well in advance, generally not less than 45-60 days before departure.


WHAT ARE THE 'REST CAMPS'
The restc amps are the alternative solution for those who, travelling by hire car, wish to stay inside the park, in secluded, scenic and spectacular locations,    but without spending a lot....

. There are countless low-cost lodges in the Kruger area, but they are necessarily located just outside the park: the private lodges inside the park are often very expensive.
The rest camps, on the other hand, represent a different solution:
They are hotel facilities managed directly by the park authority and offer accommodation at very popular prices! They are not, of course, luxurious accommodations (you stay in bungalows of various sizes, rustic and simple, though always comfortable and clean) but their location is simply extraordinary. Accommodation in the restcamps does not include catering services, but each bungalow has a kitchenette; however, the restcamps always have bars and restaurants of various types, available to those who wish to make use of them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For those who do not want to miss out on 100% immersion in the nature of the park but wish to spend little, this is the ideal solution!
