Safaris in Kenya in October

October is an interesting time to visit Kenya’s main parks.

The dry season is drawing to a close and the vegetation is generally still sparse, creating good conditions forwildlife viewing. Towards the second half of the month, short spells of rain may begin, usually in the form of temporary showers.

In Samburu, wildlife is often concentrated along the Ewaso Nyiro River, whilst Lake Nakuru offers good opportunities to spot rhinos and numerous bird species throughout the year.

The Masai Mara maintains a high concentration of resident wildlife throughout theyear. Although the movements of the Great Migration vary depending on rainfall and cannot be guaranteed, the chances of spotting large predators and numerous herbivores remain excellent.
