The trip combines safaris in the famous Kruger National Park with the more intimate experience of the Balule Private Game Reserve, a private reserve open to the vast ecosystem of the Greater Kruger.
During your stay, you’ll take part in day and night safaris, a walking safari accompanied by qualified rangers, and a traditional bush dinner under the African sky.
The first night will be spent in Sandton, Johannesburg’s most modern and vibrant neighbourhood, before continuing on to the reserve.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1 – 16 October 2026 – Departure from Milan
Departure from Milan Malpensa Airport at 22:15 on an Emirates flight to Dubai. Overnight on board.
Day 2 – 17 October 2026 – Arrival in Johannesburg and transfer to Sandton
Arrival in Dubai at 06:20. After a stopover of 3 hours and 35 minutes, departure at 09:55 on an Emirates flight to Johannesburg. Arrival at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 16:15. After completing immigration formalitiesand collecting luggage, meet the driver and transfer to Sandton. Check in at the Garden Court Sandton City, in a Standard double room. Evening at leisure.

Day 3 – 18 October 2026 – Sandton – Balule Private Game Reserve
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your driver at the Garden Court Sandton City and transfer to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, the departure point for the shared shuttle bus to the Balule Private Game Reserve. Arrival at Tremisana Game Lodge and check-in to a twin room. In the afternoon, set off on the first safari in an open 4x4 vehicle. The experience continues with a traditional bush braai under the stars and an exciting night-time safari in search of the animals that are mostactive after sunset.

Day 4 – 19 October 2026 – Walking safari and sunset safari
Early morning departure for a walking safari accompanied by qualified rangers along the Olifants River. The walking safari allows you to experience the African natural environment from a completely different perspective. During the activity, you’ll learn to recognise footprints, tracks, plants and small details that are often overlooked during 4x4 safaris. Return to the lodge for lunch and free time. In the afternoon, set off on another safari in the private reserve, with a stop for a sunset aperitif.

Day 5 – 20 October 2026 – Full day in Kruger National Park
A day entirely dedicated to a photo safari in Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s most important and well-known nature reserves. The safari will take place, approximately, in the Orpen, Satara and Nwanedzi areas, which are particularly good for spotting large mammals and predators. During the day, you will have the chance to spot:
- lions;
- elephants;
- leopards;
- rhinos;
- buffalo;
- giraffes;
- zebras;
- antelopes and numerous species of birds.
Lunch will be at your own expense at one of the park’s rest camps. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 6 – 21 October 2026 – Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and safari
After breakfast, a visit to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, a centre dedicated to the recovery, care and protection of southern African wildlife. The experience offers a closer look atthe work carried out to protect and care for animals that are injured, poisoned, orphaned or victims of conflict with human activities. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, set off on another safari in the Balule Private Game Reserve.

Day 7 – 22 October 2026 – Second safari in Kruger National Park
The second day is entirely dedicated to a safari in Kruger National Park. We’ll explore the most interesting areas for spotting predators and large African mammals. Every safari is different from the last: the routes and sightings depend on the animals’ movements and the information gathered by the rangers throughout the day. Lunch will be at your own expense at one of the park’s rest camps. Return to Tremisana Game Lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 8 – 23 October 2026 – Transfer to Johannesburg with stops along the Panorama Route and return flight
Final morning safari dawn, followed by breakfast. Departure for Johannesburg via the spectacular Panorama Route, one of South Africa’s most picturesque scenic routes. Scenic stops are planned at Blyde River Canyon and Three Rondavels. Onward journey to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Departure at 22:20 on an Emirates direct flight to Dubai. Overnight on board.
Meals: breakfast.
Day 9 – 24 October 2026 – Arrival in Italy
Arrival in Dubai at 08:20. After a stopover of 1 hour and 15 minutes, departure at 09:35 on an Emirates flight bound for Milan. Arrival at Milan Malpensa Airport at 14:10. End of services.

Garden Court Sandton City: The Garden Court Sandton City is situated in the heart of Sandton, Johannesburg’s modern business district, close to Nelson Mandela Square and the Sandton City Shopping Centre. Accommodation is in a Standard double room, with breakfast included. This location allows you to spend your first night in South Africa in comfort before setting off the following day for the Greater Kruger.
Tremisana Game Lodge: Tremisana Game Lodge is situated in the Balule Private Game Reserve, within the vast ecosystem of the Greater Kruger. It is a simple, informal lodge surrounded by nature, ideal for those wishing to experience an authentic safari and spend most of their days taking part in the activities included in the programme. Accommodation is for five nights in adouble unglaow.

Kruger safari in October
October marks the transition from the dry season to the warmer season in the Kruger area.
The vegetation is generally still sparse and many animals continue to frequent the waterholes. Temperatures are higher than in the winter months and the first seasonal thunderstorms may occur, helping to gradually transform the landscape.
It is an interesting time for safaris, with good chances of spotting large mammals and nature beginning to come to life as the rains approach.
